SPA – where did it come from
Spa town, Club spa, Spa resorts ? these terms are quite common and people are well-acquainted with Spa treatments nowadays. However, have you ever thought when the first Spa was set up on earth? How did people understand that such a treatment can refresh both body and mind?
To get the answer we have to go back to the nature. Spring water, full with iron and other minerals, can be used for medication and ancient men realized this. Such hot springs are the most natural form of today?s Health Spa undoubtedly.
Wikipedia suggests that Spa is the acronym of some Latin phrases like “Salus Per Aquam” or “Sanitas Per Aquam” which mean “Health through Water”. Though there is no evidence whether the term Spa is indeed the abbreviation of any such Latin term, but the meaning of the Latin phrases again points to Natural Hot Springs.
Whatever be the origin of today?s Spa, it?s always true that hot mineral water in a natural environment has curative power and it is equally useful to shed mental stress. That is why Health Spas are most preferred weekend destination of professionals and office-goers.
