5 Safety Signs of UK

In UK there are five main types of safety signs and different colors are associated with the signs. Specific safety message and graphic shape is also associated with each sign. The 5 types of safety signs have been described by BS5499.

Red is the main color for prohibition signs. The signs have a contrast color of white and black is the color of the graphical symbol.

Yellow is the safety color for hazard signs. The graphical symbol comes in black, which is also the contrast color.

Mandatory action signs are drawn in blue with white as the contrast color and also the color of the graphical symbol.

The main color for fire safety signs is again red. The contrast color is white. The graphic symbol also comes in white.

Safe condition, safety equipment and escape routes are defined by green with white as its contrast color. White is also the color for the graphic symbol.
