Resurgence of health spas and health farms in a stressed world

Friday, October 26th, 2007

Only fifty years ago the notion of a spa was an anachronism with all the connotations of colonials returned from India taking the waters at Bath. There has been a dramatic change since those days. Now there is barely a county in England, and barely a part of Scotland, Wales, Jersey and Isle of Man that is without a spa.

And there is such a variety! At one end of the spectrum are the ?serious? health spas and farms where the seriously stressed, ill, addicted or obese go for extended periods to regain their previous health and change their lives for the better. At the other end of the spectrum are the less high-power spas where you can go for a weekend break.

Not being a health fanatic by any stretch of the imagination I simply did not notice this changing trend. I first became aware of spas when I travelled across the UK on business. It was a sort of road show and the firm booked me into hotels along the way. I was then exposed to hotels with spas. It seemed a bit odd to me as usually the hotels served the most unhealthy foods and had rather large pubs attached.

There was even the time I was booked into a certain hotel only to find that it was one of those spa hotels that exist primarily because of its spa function! That was why I had to go out and find bacon and eggs for breakfast at a sort of caf? nearby. Needless to say I took myself out for a pizza that night and gave my secretary a good dressing down when I got back. I told her I wasn?t the spa type and asked how she could possibly have booked me into hotel spas.

Imagine my surprise when she burst out laughing and said she had been trying to manipulate me into better habits! It turned out that she has been attending day spas on her days off and going to spas of every kind during her holidays. No wonder she is such a strong, healthy, good looking girl. Maybe I should go on a day spa. Just once, mind you.

You didn’t know about yellow?

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

If you didn?t know that yellow is the fashion color this season, that figging means inserting a piece of frozen green ginger up your rectum for sex kicks, and that altoid breath mints can spice up your blow jobs then you are sadly lacking in chic.

Go to the online womens trend magazine Nuts4Chic to learn all about this and other items that will take your breath away. Take the the latest celebrity news. Did you know that showbiz aristocrat Drew Barrymore had to fight her way up the ranks, that Scarlett Johansson is a natural redhead and George Clooney is not just a pretty face? Yeah, I didn?t either.

It?s not all feathers and flounce though. There?s place for womens issues and there even a real agony aunt and introductions to hypnosis, wicca and exotic unfamiliar religions (in today?s terms anyway) such as Roman Catholicism and Kabbalah.. There?s a really important article about Work that Waist. First I thought it was get rid of belly fat, then I realized it was about belts. Belts are back!

The love and relationship side of the magazine is really flippant but why not? Chic life is flip. How can you tell your man is gay? How can you be sure your man is not gay? How do you respond when your man tells you he?s gay? Hell, this is a guide to chic conversation over a latte, not to relationships.

But I like it. I dug around the site in the hopes of finding the agony aunt. Stuff about new mothers, yes, I found that. There was a section for green issues and, in the midst of all this chic lite was the heavy chic of getting married. Everyone?s doing it. No agony aunt as yet. Dang, I really need an agony aunt. I want to ask her about my addition to the internet ? online of course.

Big brand names vs knock off golf clubs

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

It?s like anything: you can do it properly or do it badly. The same goes for buying your custom made golf clubs online. I was after snake eyes golf clubs when I came across a family business that sells custom golf clubs in Pennsylvania, would you believe. The testimonials looked good so I started shopping. Once I started looking at the specials I realized I was definitely going to be ordering a clone golf club. Hey, the idea is to improve your game, not to chase a label.

It ended up being one of the best purchases I ever made online. I had researched a lot of clubs on other web sites and I noticed the pricing was right. The main thing was that I went for telephone consulting for custom golf clubs. This is the way to go! The consultant (the owner Kevin Roberts actually) told me everything I needed to know about my purchase. I was impressed with the turnaround time: 3 to 4 business days. When you need your knock off golf club purchase, you really need it! Every round you play with the old ones is one round too many. The long and short of it is that Kevin built them over the weekend and sent them on the Monday. I got them the following day.

I have to say I?m over the moon with my purchase. Don?t ever, ever be put off by custom- made clubs. These clubs are as good at the Nike slingshots irons, rather look at the alternatives at other custom golf club offers and save yourself a bundle of cash. These clubs are on a par with the Nike, probably better. Check out the snake eyes golf clubs there online. Don?t just rush off and throw your hard-earned money at a label ? and buying golf clubs online really works.
